Office of the Registrar

Congratulations, graduates-to-be! The big day is just around the corner, and we’re here to help you prepare for a successful commencement ceremony. To ensure everything goes smoothly and you can fully enjoy this momentous occasion, follow this comprehensive checklist of essential steps to complete before the big day.

Step 1: Verify Your Graduation Application

To ensure your graduation application is on file with the Registrar's Office, log in to your My.UAFS account and click Student Services - View Transcripts - Student Services - Academic Transcript. Select All Levels and Academic Transcript. Under Degrees Awarded, make sure all degrees and/or certificates you expect to earn this semester are listed. If no graduation application type is noted for the degree you've applied for, contact your advisor immediately.

Step 2: Register to Participate in Commencement

If you plan to walk across the stage at commencement, check the Commencement webpage for the date and time of your ceremony. Please make note of any specific instructions and requirements for your ceremony.

Step 3: Complete Your Financial Obligations

Your balance must be paid in full before you can receive your transcripts and diploma. You can see your current balance in your My.UAFS account. You can also contact the UAFS Cashier's office at Cashier@gxitma.net or by calling 479-788-7060.

Step 4: Purchase Your Cap and Gown

All graduation regalia is purchased through the UAFS bookstore and shipped directly to you.

Announcements, diploma frames, and class rings are also available on the site. You can purchase UAFS and alumni memorabilia at the UAFS Bookstore.

Step 5: Check Your UAFS Email Often

The Registrar's Office will send information related to graduation and the commencement ceremony to your official UAFS email address. You'll learn when and where to pick up your reader card, ceremony details, and more.

Step 6: Follow the UAFS Alumni Office

Stay up to date on programming and services tailored to you as an alumnus! Connect with the UAFS Alumni Office on Facebook or Instagram using @uafsalumni or follow our LinkedIn page UAFS Alumni.

Step 7: Connect with Career Services and Take the First Destination Survey

The Babb Center for Career Services can assist you with your job search, interview skills, resume updates, and much more even after graduation as alumnus. Please make an appointment in Navigate, email careerservices@gxitma.net or call 479-788-7017 if you would like to visit more about your next big step!

Lions CareerLink is still available to you as an alumni, just be sure to update your profile with a permanent/non-UAFS email address.

Please take a few minutes to complete our First Destination survey and tell us your plans after graduation.

Step 8: Attend Senior Send-Off (Optional)

Celebrate the culmination of years of dedication, resilience, and grit by attending Senior Send-Off! Enjoy a free drink on the Alumni Office alongside the family, friends, faculty, and staff who were by your side throughout your studies.

Step 8: Become a Tradition Keeper (Optional)

Meant to encourage and track participation in university events, the Traditions Keeper Program rewards students who complete the requirements with a special graduation cord. Visit the Traditions Keeper Program page for more details.

Step 9: Sign Up for a RAWC Membership (Optional)

UAFS graduates are eligible for special membership rates ($200 annually or four months for $80) at the UAFS Recreation and Wellness Center courtesy of the UAFS Alumni Office and the RAWC. Visit the RAWC webpage for full details or to purchase a membership.
